There’s literally always a time for smoothies. Just finished a crazy workout and don’t feel like eating? Up early and don’t want to make breakfast? Home late and too tired to cook dinner? Hungry in the middle of the day but don’t want to stuff your face? Craving something sweet? Smoothies are here to save the day!

I’ll keep adding to this list as the months and weather change, but here’s a starting resource to my favourite smoothie recipes. And while recipes are great, you can literally build your own by using whatever fresh or frozen fruit you have handy, and playing around with ingredients!

NOTE: all my smoothies include protein powder. This is optional, but a great way to up your protein intake if you are using smoothies to replace a full meal. I also add a teaspoon of cinnamon to every smoothie. Cinnamon is great for blood sugar control.

Place all ingredients in a quality blender and blend until smooth.

berry bomb

  • Handful frozen mixed berries
  • Handful baby spinach
  • 1/2 cup milk/almond milk/coconut milk
  • 1 Tbs honey
  • 1 scoop protein powder of choice
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

banana bonanza

  • 1 large banana
  • 2 Tbs natural yogurt (I like greek)
  • 1 Tbs maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup milk/almond milk/coconut milk
  • 1 scoop protein powder of choice
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 Tbs peanut butter
